Mount Carmel and PSTM Architecture Partner to Restore Holy Trinity Convent and School

Jay Cimino’s love for his hometown inspired growth and change in the city of Trinidad. Even now, Jay continues to impact his beloved town. PSTM Architecture and Planning Inc. is honored to be a part of the restoration and adaptive reuse of the Holy Trinity Convent and School. The project is an amazing tribute to not only Jay but to the fantastic, rich history of Colorado’s first School District.

East St. School Receives the People's Choice Award from History Colorado 2024

We, at PSTM Architecture and Planning Inc, are proud to announce that East Street School in Trinidad, Colorado has been selected to receive the People’s Choice Award in 2024 from History Colorado and the Stephen H. Hart Awards. This is a highly recognized preservation award. Dawn DiPrince, CEO/President and State Historic Preservation Officer said, “This project helps bring attention-and provide much needed housing-to the growing creative class economy in Trinidad. East Street School is a shining example of adaptive reuse that embodies the values of heritage, innovation, and the dynamic synergies between the field of historic preservation and creative industries. Having been selected for the People’s Choice Award, this project is evident in the importance it holds within the community and the continued support it will receive”.

Since 1986, History Colorado has celebrated the legacy of Stephen H. Hart, Colorado’s first State Historic Preservation Officer, by recognizing organizations and individuals who have made significant contributions to the fields of archaeology and historic preservation in Colorado. PSTM Architecture and their work are now part of this proud tradition and will be honored on Tuesday, April 16th at the History Colorado Center in Denver.
